Chapter 6

My first experience was working as a street vendor at a wedding KUA

Date: 4, January 2022

When I first stepped into the wedding hall as a student undergoing the Field Work Program (PKL), I felt a mixture of nervousness and enthusiasm. The warm and radiant atmosphere of KUA made me even more excited to start this experience.

On the first day, I watched with full openness how the kua team worked. From decorations to technical preparations, I began to understand how important details are in organizing a wedding. It was the beginning of a deep understanding of the wedding industry.

I was invited to understand wedding protocols, such as how to arrange chairs, table layouts, and so on. Learning about these procedures opened my eyes to the importance of respecting the traditions and wishes of the couple getting married.

PKL at KUA wedding also taught me effective communication skills. I interact with various team members, from event coordinators to servers, who all have to work together to create a memorable wedding.

When the wedding day arrived, activities at KUA became very busy. I am involved in maintaining the schedule, ensuring all preparations run smoothly, and providing support to the bride and groom. It feels like being in the spotlight of events that form lifelong memories.

It's not always smooth, there are several challenges that must be overcome. From changing plans to urgent needs, KUA weddings taught me flexibility and the ability to think quickly.

Through this PKL assignment, I experienced "behind the scenes" in the wedding industry. This includes managing logistics, overseeing catering services, and ensuring that every aspect of the wedding runs smoothly.

One thing that impressed me was how KUA weddings were able to give a personal touch to every wedding. From the table decorations to the music chosen, everything is tailored to the couple's personalities, creating a truly memorable moment.

In a crowded atmosphere, I learned to appreciate teamwork. Each person has their own specific role and responsibilities. The success of a wedding does not just depend on one individual, but rather the collaboration of all team members.

As my PKL assignment came to an end, I realized that this was not just an ordinary work experience, but also a valuable lesson about dedication, responsibility, and the art of organizing weddings. It was the first step that built the foundation of my knowledge in such a unique industry.
